Default Musa 'Ice Cream'

I know you folks can clear this up. I'm getting conflicting information regarding Musa 'Ice Cream' aka Blue Java.

Is this banana a species of Acuminata? Most sites never mention the Acuminata name, but Plant Files at Dave's Garden do - so I'm confused.

From what I'm reading online (including the Wiki here) the most common name is just: Musa 'Ice Cream' (Blue Java)

Thanks for any help,
John

Simple..

M. acuminata 'Blue Java' and M. acuminata 'Ice Cream' are the same.

Blue Java because the bananas are blue during maturation and Ice Cream beacuase of their flavor.

end of confusion!

Good luck!
