Re: Help Help Help
Was that the water retaining Miracle Grow stuff? That stuff holds to much water.. Better off with them in pots w/ perlite & peat.. till they get going.. :^)

Re: Help Help Help
What Abnshrek said... Plus, it is fairly common for the plant to stop growing upward while the roots are growing new paths underneath... Give them time...

Re: Help Help Help
it has not been in the ground for long..with care, remove it and check it.try mixing it something to help it drain if it is to wet..perlite,sand..never hurts to check..better a little set back rather than total loss..how Big was the hole??at least 3x3

Re: Help Help Help
Patience, your plant will start growing once your temps even out and the plant gets settled in its new home.
Sounds like you have done everything rite..... Ohio and Michigans nigh time temps are still alittle chilly for consistant growth. |
Re: Help Help Help
I know on a good growing banana once a leaf unfolds there is already a spiraled leaf ready to pop up. in my case the my leaf will unfold but I don't see a new one coming up its been a week and a half

I had one this winter push a new leaf every three weeks under lights. I moved it outside and up potted it and it has yet to popout two leaves. Once the temps are over 75 consistently I think it will take off. I did tease out the roots alittle to fill the new container. And then again other plants are pushing leaves like all get out. |
Re: Help Help Help
Mine were potted up all winter, behaving like Cincinanna's and when I put them in the ground (after cutting off all the leaves save 1 or 2 to promote rooting) they did nothing. That lasted a couple weeks, then a leaf a week, and now we're pushing like mad with the heat and the rain. Took about a month or so to get acclimated in the ground and that was WITH potted roots.
