Germinating Sikkimensis
Hi everyone this is my first post,
I just received my musa sikkimensis seeds, and want to know how long I should soak for, and do I need to sand down the outer shell at all? I need some help, and would like to hear some success/failure stories to get an idea how to go about this. Thank you Mike |
Re: Germinating Sikkimensis
Mike,
Soak them for 24hrs and then plant them a moist rich soil(potting soil) 1/2 in. deep. Keep the temps around 85. A heat mat will help and speed the process along. Not an expert but hope this helps.--Nate:nanawhopp: |
Re: Germinating Sikkimensis
Sikkimensis need tempature fluctuations. Try putting it on a heat mat(or similar device) for 12 hours on then 12 hours off. During the off hours it's better if it gets into the low 60's, and not much over 90F during the on cycle.
Good luck! |

Re: Germinating Sikkimensis
I did mine in a moist seedling mix in a ziplock bag in a sunny window. Once they germinated I potted them up.
