![]() more proof bananas bloom when they darn well please i have 2 basjoos planted at the top of my drive way they have been there 2 years and never been protected in any way last winter they froze down to the ground with nothing showing above ground they emerged around the first of April produced 8 or 10 pups hears were it gets wired while scraping my drive today on the tractor i looked over and one of them had a large opening bloom!! on a sudostem 7 months old none of the others bloom near that early usually i wrap the sudostem and they bloom around July the next year nearer to 14 months unreal is this common with basjoo? to bloom early at times? these plants are in an out of the way area and get almost no care so far I have two basjoos that have flowered and one showed a flag yesterday I thak pictures tomorrow of the 7 month old

![]() That's the life of the basjoo, at least that I am familiar with. an early bloom after only a few months with only one or two leaves and then One usually blooms late and the flower and plant freeze. Every other year or so you get one that blooms at the right time but, makes no difference anyway no edible fruit, you have to just love those flowers, they last forever, so pretty when ever.
