Dwarf Ediable Zone 7????
Are there any DWARF or NORMAL size nanners that are ediable to zone 7 that I can leave outside an stilk have good fruit that I can eat, if so can you name them please???

 ok do you know of a good dwarf rhat will stay around 5 ft so I can pot it up an bring it indoors my house isn't huge so it will need to stay smaller

?? ABNShrek= lower Arkansas ...Los Angeles lol got me at first?
Edit: sorry me no helpy... Winter in zone 7 WILL dramatically slow growth of banana plants and most likely start root rot if you are not careful watering. I am learning the hard way. Banana like staying above 70°F.... lower and they slowdown. Last edited by jbyrd88888 : 02-11-2014 at 03:46 PM. |

You are not right. There are also cold hardy bananas like Musa basjoo, sikkimensis and yunnanensis, they will survive the zone 7 winters under winter protection (big boxes full of leaves, garden waste and grass cut and isolated by styropor plates, it is also possible to heat the winter protection by heat wires with thermostat). There are also some fruit banana hybrids, e. g. Helens Hybrid (Musa sikkimensis x Chini Champa), there are also experiments of crosses between Musa basjoo, sikkimensis and yunnanensis and parthenocarpic fruit bananas.
