Can a banana corm survive a one day cold shock

I have found a spot in canada that has warm enough winters/summers to allow me to be able to keep corms outdoors enough to allow tall plants. my current question is can a banana corm survive one day (24hrs) in sub zero temperatures? after it would warm back up.

Sadly, no.
Tropical banana plants do not tolerate being frozen.

There are some previous threads that document forum members' creative ways to protect their plants from cold snaps that offer some great takeaways.

Another great source of ideas is YouTube.
There you will find many DIY videos on methods to keep your plants alive during a cold snap. Keywords banana plant wrapping/fleecing, winter protection.

Gardners in cooler climates have become quite the innovators.

gotcha. its victoria, british columbia that has a survivable winter. looking at the climate data, it might actually be worth going, renting a place and taking a banana in a pot over to my rental and live at the rental and watch the plant.
i have linked in the climate data.

i have a much simpler solution for you..........:nanadrink:

there are some very knowledgeable people in canaaaada :) that can probably answer most of your questions. subsonicdrone and sirdoofus to name 2. both get on here regularly.

ask questions on their threads, take an interest on what they are doing. and you may just get most of your answers there.

Ok cool. im mainly lookingg for a area to temporairly breed a couple plants i want to grow to shorter heights since i want to try and get a mutation that will:
Fit in my tent
produce at least two sets of fruit (have genes of musa mahoi)
and if it works well in testing, a shorter version of 1000 fingers
