Maybe
a) too much water b) too much fertilizer c) not enough sun d) bad soil e) multiple transplants. This is just a guess :P Honestly, the only time I maintained my basjoo was the first month after I planted it. It was even stressed badly since I planted it on an area which gets 8 hours of sun. Now, I don't even take care of it but I water it deeply once a week or maybe even 2. My thinking is that if I do this, the plant will try to search for water by extending their roots deeper. Don't follow what I am saying since it's my first time too to grow basjoo. So far, mine is healthy and I've been lucky. |

Since the photo, the leaves are real droopy but feeling the soil, they could be too wet, should i just leave it to dry out a bit ?

Don't give up on them yet. Give them lots of sun, keep them slightly moist (NOT wet), and feed with a water soluble fertilizer. There's a good chance they'll recover.

Hey Juff, maybe you should try this after checking for drainage and other possible causes; create a humidification box out of clear plastic for them. I think it is not a problem in doing this since the plts are still small. I think the plants have been very stressed. I do this for plts which are not well and they always come around if they are not diseased. Just make sure there is sufficient light for them during this period. Time taken for the plts to recover is normally about 2 - 4 wks. Then when they look well enough, open the box slowly for them to get used to the ambient humidity. When they are doing time in the box you can feed liquified fertiliser like what Austin suggested. Hope this works for you.
