Default Fruit to buy and try?

Are there any members who grow enough fruit to ship out? Is there a member or two who grow and actually ship banana fruit to other members?

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

Great thread

The org can certainly use more fruit suppliers.

I ship fruit weekly but stopped offering it after some newbie kept complaining that I wouldn't ship his order.
He probably wanted to do a comprehensive taste report but should have realized it's unreasonable to expect bananas from 20 different cultivars.

Anyway... hopefully everyone's fruit arrives safely today. Enjoy & Thanks!!!

The fruit with no markings are Gros Michel, everything else is labeled.

I Don't know who that guy was..... Maybe he was just new and excited to try some bananas.

I do know someone who was new at the time who was told he would get a box from someone with a few assorted types in it and was looking forward to Gm and whatever else he got being a blessing. He just wanted to taste a few different kinds, as he was new to bananas.

Then suddenly after several days he was told it was too late to send, so he told the person He would wait and get some of the next batch, even sending him some banana bucks as a thank you for trying. Then he began seeing the many others posting how they got their box of fruit from this same seller. He never said a word but got the hint. It's sad too, because this guy probably would have been a regular customer. The seller never made a move to let the newbie know when or if more was coming, then months later when the newbie asked again (Nicely I might add.) he said he wasn't selling fruit anymore... A month goes by and lo and behold, more thank you posts complete with pics of fruit boxes from the same supposedly retired seller... Hmmm. He still has all the PM's and other correspondence to prove this version of events from what I hear, but that is only because he always keeps everything. He's odd like that.

But don't worry, the newbie has a dozen varieties growing and has found some people who actually do what they say and don't play head games with people. He has tried many different varieties now, and received whole bunches for $10 instead of $20 for a small box. (Unfortunately that person is no longer selling bananas) He is even in line for a variegated pup as well as the highgate he was cheated out of by this same seller. The nerve of that guy. I bet he feels he doesn't need that seller now as he can get the same things elsewhere and for less.
You probably should have just contacted that newbie buyer way back when and hashed it all out with him as it sounds like you just misunderstood his newbie enthusiasm for pushiness or greed. He might be a really nice guy who would bend over backward to help someone out and be a very grateful buyer. Heck, he may even be such a forgiving type that he would forgive and forget even now if you tried reaching out in friendship. He probably wouldn't need to bother you for anything anymore, so don't worry about that. It seems to have been long enough now that he is probably a lot like me with many of his own growing and several other connections to get plants and fruit.

That is what happened to me. I am sorry to hear of your bad experience too, though.

For members that received American Goldfingers and the FHIA-01 Goldfingers, Text or Pm which one you preferred.

Anyone who has received fruit please post the pictures!! I would love to see the fruit! If there is any I bet it's from one of your best buds! Who buy at least several times a year from you.

It's hard to make $$ on fruit! It's better to just sell variegated plants. And most variegated fruit I hear isn't that great. Except variegated Veinte Cohol. It is quite good. Ashamed my variegated basjoo doesn't produce fruit! Wow I've never seen anything grow like it does. I bet those grow like weeds in the tropics! How are they growing for you PR-Giants? I'm really curious.

Steve PM me I have GM Higate and 7 different variegated varities!

Ignore PR-Giants attacks and hurtful remarks. I can't see how his posts above are informative about bananas?
