What type of banana is this?
I bought this plant from Lowe's in Calgary AB who gets them from Devry greenhouse in BC. The plant is about 2 feet tall, has sent out 3 pups, the leaves are heavily variegated with dark red when young but turn to solid green with age. |

Re: What type of banana is this?
I can't see the pictures but it sounds like a Truly Tiny or Super Dwarf Cavendish. Search some pics of those and compare. Maybe you can verify.

Re: What type of banana is this?
I concur it's most likely either an SDC or a DC (dwarf cavendish) as these are by far the most commonly sold in Canada, DCs given good conditions will get quite large, in SW Ontario I routinely get 5 feet of P-stem a season, whereas SDC never put on more than two feet of P-stem. Both have similar dark red splotches while young.
