Default What kind of bananas are these?

Hi guys,

This is Ryan here in East Hawaii with a banana identification question. I have about 60 banana trees of one specific unknown variety. I acquired these as root balls from a friend's yard, who assured me they were very good eating. He had purchased them years earlier and had now forgotten the named variety.

So these bananas are about a year old now and I have my first 6 racks hanging on the trees. Any insights you can provide are much appreciated!

They look like Tall Brazilians, aka Apple bananas here in Hawaii.

Don't they look a little short? I thought Tall Brazilians can hit 20 feet.

They can be short and will fruit short too. Some of the ones next door to me at my neighbors fruit lower than DBs. Some are much taller. Mostly going by the clean rachis.
