I'm a new member.
We did a redo of our backyard and the wife planted all exotic palms. When she started planting I mentioned I wanted bananas if she had palms. I have 3 banana plants which are supposed to be Blue Javas but after posting I'm getting responses saying that the fruit bearing plant isn't Blue Java but a NemWah.? The fruit bearing plant on the left is much larger and completely different looking than the other 2 (all planted at the same time). Now I'm thinking that the one on the left is the namwah. The 2 on the right are Blue Java. Any help appreciated. A good photo is in my gallery showing completely different looking plants. Last edited by ocrey : 08-02-2015 at 11:53 AM. |

If it is a Namwah plant you are lucky. They grow and produce bananas and pups like crazy. I think the bananas are very good. I know it sucks not getting what you ordered, I have several plants that aren't what I purchased.

Most Icecream that you buy are Namwah due to a mix up by tissue culture labs, but I hear they are superior tasting to Icecream anyway.
