Default What is this?

Seems like I should have other photos but I can only find 2 for now. This plant is stocky and fruited around 8 feet. Seems to have lots of bluish. Leaves are firm and tend to reamain flat not folding in the sun like most others. Fruits were close to full size banana but a tad smaller. Taste was pretty good. Survived the winter freezes and never lost any fruit even though the leaves burned. This right now becoming more and more my favorite overall plant.

How tall is it? Man the yellow flowers and way the peduncle tapers down makes me think some kinda cavendish. With the nipples on the end and the way the bud has turned before it was cut. If GM it would have went a little ways then down. I would guess Gros Michel. Hopefully Gabe will see it and help us! Pretty cool man. Can't wait to see what it is!

Need more photos to say for sure. Most of what I see and your description is in line with Dwarf Brazilian, but there are some things that don't seem quite right for it. Need photos showing the whole plant and with the male bad attached to the bunch.

I break off the male bud so I will have to wait. My theory is that it is an FHIA of some sort and maybe with dwarf Brazilian in it. Ill have to compare. I want to say it dropped the male flowers but I can't remember clearly.

If I had to guess from the pics and description I would lean toward 3640... The wide open petioles and red coloration plus deep green wide leaves... the last pic especially.... Not to mention the cold tolerance, that is my guess.
I doubt GM would keep the bunch thru a cold spell bad enough to kill off the leaves.
I have not seen one bloom and we have no male bud, so... It's my somewhat educated guess.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

I'm agreeing it could be sh3640. Or even some form of goldfinger. My goldfinger don't hang that way but mine is the agristarts clone. This could be the real goldfinger. The round ends are throwing me off. I'm changing my guess to goldfinger/3640 which are very similar.

It's a good one that's for sure!

Even if it is not SH 3640 it is probably the best direction to look. SH 3640 has come up many times with this. Not knowing anything about it I drove about 100 miles to get SH 3640 from someone. I did notice that when I visited my new SH 3640 it for some reason reminded me of the mystery plant. I took a bunch of the bananas along with for my lunch on a trip to Going Bananas but mostly for my lunch not ID. Don ate one and told me to look at it maybe being SH 3640. Only thing that kept steering me away from SH 3640 was a raised ridge I tend to see in most photos of the fruit that I did not see on mine. I have to say though that my fruit were a tad undersized from what the original guy I got it from had on his. If my experience shows that SH 3640 is this tough then it is a must for anyone wanting an easy plant to grow. The firm leaves and blue color are good from landscape as well.
