Requesting an identification / confirmation.
Howdy folks.
I ordered this from Green Earth Co. back in February and it was supposed to be an ice cream banana plant. I realized today that it has a very slight red tint on the stem and I didn't know why the leaves have that dark red look other than perhaps I was killing the poor plant somehow. I am assuming that this is either a dwarf cavendish or rowe red and or definitely not any chance it is the ice cream banana plant? |

Re: Requesting an identification / confirmation.
100% not 'Ice Cream', most likely a 'Dwarf Cavendish'. Sorry.

Re: Requesting an identification / confirmation.
I would at least send them an email with your order number and complain they didn't send the plant variety that was ordered. And, you will not doing business with them in the future.

Re: Requesting an identification / confirmation.
I really appreciate everyone's help and advice.
I have another question. I picked this banana plant up from a local nursery around 6 weeks ago, it was labeled as ice cream / Chiquita, I had my doubts but it was such a large plant for 20 bucks that I figured what the heck. Is this actually a Namwah banana plant instead? |

This actually could be a blue java. It’s not cavendish. Pisang awak/namwa does have the red in the middle of the leaf though. Hopefully it blooms and you can verify for sure what it is.
