Real Blue Java? What you think?
I ordered these Ice Cream from 'randys tropical plants' last year and they both fruited and put off several pups. Does this look like real Blue Java to you? My pictures would not upload see if you can view them off my Google drive. https://drive.google.com/folderview?...a6-vKntj1Y1L1k
Thanks for the input. |

Re: Real Blue Java? What you think?
If they are real Blue Java/ice cream, you picked them too early. They don't ripen of tree in my experience. They will just rot. Mine I had to leave on the tree until yellow and well ripened because when I picked a hand and tried ripening off tree they just didn't ripen and went bad/rotted.
Did they ripen for you? if so I doubt they are real. From the color I'd doubt it too. Too green and not enough of the silver/blue dusted look. I'd guess, namwah. Helps to see the plants, in bloom with the flower and fruit hanging. Here are some of my real Blue Java plants: These didn't ripen at all off tree:

Re: Real Blue Java? What you think?
It's going to be 30° tomorrow morning so I had to cut them. I have a Dwarf Namwah I got from you off Etsy.. Hope these are Blue Java tho. As far as taste goes which is better?

Re: Real Blue Java? What you think?
Now that's a matter of personal opinion.
My wife LOVES the Blue Java and ate all of them, while I didn't care for the texture myself. Too mushy with a hard-ish/chewy center. They don't taste like vanillia ice cream. They taste, in my opinion, very banana, but sweet AF. I prefer namwah myself. I sort of doubt those are Blue Java. However I have some for sale but they aren't listed, must contact me directly.

Re: Real Blue Java? What you think?
I posted more pictures of it on the plant. https://drive.google.com/folderview?...a6-vKntj1Y1L1k
I've read on here that blue Java is 3 oo 10 on taste.. I've heard good things about Namwah. So if that's the case I have an abundance of Namwah now and no blue Java. |

Re: Real Blue Java? What you think?
They are Namwah, not Blue Java.

Re: Real Blue Java? What you think?
