Default Rajapuri Question

I bought plants from AgriStarts. Now there is a question as to whether this is truly Rajapuri.

Do a lot of young banana plants develop splotches of color on the leaves, or is this NOT Rajapuri?

OK, but how do I know that this is truly Rajapuri? The Wiki entry says that Rajapuri has totally green leaves. Does that refer to the mature plant? Do many green-leaf bananas have splotches of color like this on young plant leaves? I know our young Dwarf Cavendish tend to have splotches, but the older the plant gets the greener the leaves are, no splotches.

If it helps, my new Raja Puri has the same leaf coloration. It is a small plant as well about 2.5 feet overall height. I ordered mine from Going Bananas. I bet we have the real Raja Puri.

Mine looks exactly like the above and also has a few reddish splotches. Looks like you have a consensus.

I'd wondered the same thing before because I too had read that they were totally green. Mine has a few faint red splotches as well. I got it from someone whom I trust so I believe it is Raja Puri.

Mine has no red in it yet, but it has seen limited sun time due to the daily thunderstorms we have had this week. That and I have been deliberately suppressing fertilizing so that they remain smaller for the trip to Las Vegas next week. I have to be able to put all of them in my car. Don't know where I will put my clothes and other things, lol! Golf clubs are taking up most of the trunk space, so I will probably have to get a trailer for other non-essentials. My bananas go first class.
