Re: plese help me, what kind of banana tree I have
Welcome Makedonija
Nice looking plants - it's a bit hard to tell but some look like they could be dwarf cavendish. I hope someone can be more specific - perhaps if they flower this summer it will make identification easier. Cassie |

Re: plese help me, what kind of banana tree I have
Looks like Musa balbisiana, or that "unknown seeded variety" growing along the coast of the meditteranean countries.
It's most likely not a dwarf cavendish, as these usually have a red-brown colour on the stems. The un-attached bottom leaf-shape and black spots on the yellowish stems as well as the wax are all characteristics of m. balbisiana. Balbisiana is probably one of the easiest bananas from seed, and also said to be a very variable banana in terms of appearance - though the characteristics I mentioned above are usually present in some degree in the plant. -Erlend

Re: plese help me, what kind of banana tree I have
Hello;
Now I am unshure too, since Cavendish can also have black blotches. The reason I think it may be balbisiana is because of the amount of wax and the leaf-shape, but it could also be some kind of "mediterranean hybrid" of some sort. Or it could be a cavendish with specially shapd leaves. Usually, cavendish leaves are "attached" as opposed to "unattached", but maybe this becomes less apparent on larger plants... But do you have any red/ maroon colour on the stem? Did you see brown/red colouring on the stems when it was younger? If you did then it most likely is a cavendish type.

Re: plese help me, what kind of banana tree I have
My first reaction was cavendish, but maybe a one that has recurved leaf bases. Or is that normal for Cavendish?
