Pisang Ceylon or Musa Basjoo
I had a few people comment on my Picture before I posted the question here.
Last year I purchased two banana plants 1 of each Pisang Ceylon and a Basjoo, however the tags fell off during shipping and I didn't know which was which. Here is a picture of one after it grew: Here is a pup from the other: Thanks Paul |

Re: Pisang Ceylon or Musa Basjoo
You recognize Musa basjoo at the winged leaf stalks and the leaves are curly.
I hope that I could help you. Best wishes Basjoofriend |

Re: Pisang Ceylon or Musa Basjoo
those are both edible nannas. see the white powdery stuff under the leaves and near the top of the stem, basjoos don't get that.
basjoo sward pups Google Image Result for http://vicpic.cybersites.ca/July05/M_basjoo_July05.jpg here is a picture of my orinoco from last year. looks very similar to the bottom pic. Hope it flowers soon and you will really be able to tell.
