Default 'nother mystery nanner

I have had this plant about a year and a half - got from a friend who has no clue what it is or where his parents got it from, etc. It is now about 7 feet tall and the pups its produced are no more than a foot tall. I thought I would wait until it fruited to take pictures, hopefully they help. The poor thing has become pretty wind torn the last couple days - it has been pretty windy here.

Odd looking fruit, but I have no idea.

Is flooding an issue there? It looks as if that house is only a few feet above the water line!

Its a Popo'ulu (which is a whole group of culivars), very likely 'Hua Moa'.

I like the hawaian plantains they sell here in stores, so that would be good

No flooding issue, just south florida-the builders here dig up limestone to firm up the land in order to build houses on what may as well be wetlands. Where they dig becomes a canal so half the homes many neighborhoods are "waterfront".

Thanks all - I will post pics of the fruit when its fully developed.
