Not Musa xishuangbannaensis syn. gigantea but Musa acuminata ssp. microcarpa?
Hi,
as I visited my friend Helton in Campina do Monte Alegre on Oct. 22nd, Helton shown the plant mislabeled as Musa xishuangbannaensis syn. gigantea. The plant and also the flowers and fruits are too small for one Musa xishuangbannaensis. Musa xishuangbannaensis is one very huge plant, to 15 or 20 meters tall. But this plant is too much small! Helton and I surmise now, that the supplier has mislabeled or even scammed. Helton and I also surmise, this might be Musa acuminata ssp. microcarpa. Are Helton and I right? Here the pic: Best wishes Joachim |
