Could be. But they also tend to lose redness when exposed to the sun, so it could be that, too.

Well we ALMOST had a freeze! I ran out and wrapped all the bananas in blankets and towels, all snug. Then I covered the base with soil too. But then it only got down to 36F so it didn't actually freeze at all.
But.. I have some browning leaves. Some look very good, some look rather unhappy. None look dead though. So we shall see how they pop back out with the warming weather. |

Nice deal! A Grand Nain is in the Cavendish family, and as far as I know you can tell a Cavendish from other bananas by looking at the young leaves of the suckers. The young sucker leaves should have a light red camouflage on the surface.
