Could be manzano -- don't see anything that would indicate it is not. But could be 100 other varieties, too! But most of those you couldn't get in CA. You really won't be able to tell until it produces fruit.

I purchase it from a banana nursery in San Diego, and the guy said it is but yea your right on that, have to wait till it fruits.
