Default Majunches?

I've searched and have found nothing. Someone in New Orleans told me they have Magunches (that's how she spelled it) and that they are from Cuba. I have found out they are coffee and purple coloured, slightly thicker than the commercial kinds and are delicious.

Nothing comes up on Google or here.

Anyone know what kind of banana it is?

Sounds like Lakatan / Cuban Red to me.

Dan Koeppel talked about Lacatan in his book. It fits the description. I'll see if they know anymore about them. I want to get a Lacatan anyway.
