Default Little Store bought bananas

I saw these in the supermarket this week and couldn't pass them up. They're not manzanos... a bit longer and not as curved. Quite straight actually. They're pretty yellow inside... almost like the orangey of a plantain and the flesh is much creamier than cavendish or even manzanos. They're not completely ripe but they're still quite sweet and more flavorful than cavendish. I really like them.
They're tough to start peeling and usually mush the top of the fruit, but once it starts, it's very thin skinned and peels easy.
Any ideas would be nice

Thank you Gabe. How do you come to this ID? Not to question your ID but to understand how to ID.

The only name I can find on the wiki is Musa 'Dwarf Nino'.
I've tried doing searches on the site but the best post I can find is ths one - Super SMALL bananas

But the fruit in that thread look to be shorter, more blunt or rounded on the end than the ones I posted.

Well, What ever it is, its Delicious. Anyone Grow this plant?

Half of IDing is just knowing what the most likely candidates are. It's not so much needing to look at it and ID it from its traits exactly, but Sucrier is what is grown commercially as "baby bananas" or "mini bananas" by the big companies, so if you buy them at a common supermarket in the US, then that's almost guaranteed what it is. Occasionally Manzano/Silk will be sold too, but they look very different. The slight variations in fruit shape between yours and the others could be due to a number of different things, but they are not significantly different.

Yea I've had those exact ones before. Gabe is correct. For sure Nino. Mine were about half the size but same exact tag and brand. Interesting the size difference.

Perhaps the plants in the grove that produced the fruit pictured bore more consistently large hands at the top of the bunch such that uniformity didn't dictate keeping the smaller fruit. It would be interesting to see some of the exporter's training documents on quality control!

Wal mart seems to be expanding their banana types recently. Here in Florida we see reds, burros, Manzanos as well as Cavendish and organic Cavendish. Would think the growers, especially the organic growers would use some other types. I have not seen these there yet, though. I used to see these back in Illinois sometimes in Kroger.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

Yea same here. Walmart has. Cavendish. Organic cavendish. Plantains. Sometimes Burros. Sometimes Nino. Haven't seen manzanos or reds in years. Since before I was bitten by the banana bug. Wish I would have tried them back then.

Had tried Reds when I lived in NY... but haven't seen them down here in Florida yet. Now, if only they'd carry things like Ice Cream, Pisang Klotek, Mysore and more!
I'll have to add Pisang Klotek to my collection since I doubt they'll ever have any of those and I have the other two :-) (Thank you rmplmnz)

Yummy but if they sit too long they are nearly impossible to peel. Bought mine green and let them ripen.

Thank you Gabe.. Just wanted to let you know, I had Called Del Monte. They referred me to a "Fresh Fruit" Division and they called and left a message on my phone, confirming the banana Variety purchased in the store with that tag is indeed Pisang Mas.
Awesome Banana! Gonna have to add that to a list of Wants :-)
It's funny but, when I looked up Pisang Mas online, My description almost matches :-) I said very sweet, Thin Skinned, so soft they mush when peeling, Orangey flesh and very creamy.
One website I found describes them as "very thin-skinned and fragile when ripe. Their golden-yellow flesh is sweet and honey-like and faintly gelatinous."
:-)
