Re: Late August bloom and help I D
Hey!!!! the sit is back up!!!
latest pics of the august bloom on 9-29 and here is the latest of the sept 1 bloom on 9-29 this one is of the same bloom, (even though it doesn't look like it, just from a different angle that doesn't show most of the fruit) and this one is the sept bloom on 9-29 after I cut the bloom off I went ahead and cut the bloom off of this one the same way I did the august bloom they seem to be fattening up some. nights are getting down in the 50's now, days in the 70's ,,Just started today on 10-4,, I hope this is not too cool because I wont get over there this week end. here is the big question??? how cold it can get with the fruit still on the plant without harming the fruit?? |

Re: Late August bloom and help I D
If it frosts the fruit might be burned. If the fruits go through cold, sometimes the fruit are stunted and never get any bigger. Are you going to leave the plants in the ground over winter? Not sure about the tempature bananas are damaged at. This is a crazy, probably absurd idea, nor tested, but when frosts are coming, and the fruit are not quite filled, the plant with fruit can be cut off at the ground, so that the whole fruit stem inside tha plant can give the fruit the whole amount of nutrients in the stem. Absurd. Absurd. Absurd. You may be the first to try it
