Default Impossible ? Banana I.D. ? Store house plant "banana" ?

In a grocery story recently and they have house plants labeled as "banana" they have small reddish spots on them, and are in a six or eight inch pot approx 11 inches tall. I am thinking they are either dwarf cavendish or truly tiny ? I noticed on one of them it is already sending up pups, also worth $7 did not take a pic.

I bought one at Lowes in the house plant section. It was no more than 8 inches tall in a 4 in. pot. does anybody know what variety Lowes sells in these small plants? mine is 2 ft tall at the Ps now, sorry I'm a newbie here so I have no idea on how to load pics here yet. I know its some dwarf cavendish variety. Its very sensitive to cold, I know cause I lost one 2 winters ago. any suggestions?
