Re: Identification assistance
Are these photos yours? They are all different varieties.
Tall bananas with narrow and strait leaves is not very specific, there are many varieties with those traits, they are not unique traits. For ID, show us a photo of the plants you are trying to ID. |

I think you would be better off asking for recommendations of banana plants to grow in your country and climate. Banana plants by nature are tropical plants. Your location appears to be Serbia. You need very cold hardy plants to survive your winters. The banana plants in the 2nd photo are located at Kanaha Beach Maui a long ways from your location. .... I'll bet Gabe took the photo (may be both photos) or at least have personally seen those plants in the 2nd photo. So I'm fairly sure those would not survive in your climate. |
Re: Identification assistance
After making a quick check, your location appears to be in a 'growing zone 6' compared to USDA zone charts. Banana plants become very difficult to grow when in zones colder than 9. A few banana varieties are manageable in growing zone 8.

i don't know the variety of the bananas you pictured. There is not enough info to identify the plants from the photos. .... But you did state you wanted to buy the same banana plants. I was simply warning you these are not likely to survive in your growing conditions. The Basjo is your best plant to grow unless you plan to move to a warmer climate or build a heated greenhouse. Sorry for trying to help. |
Re: Identification assistance
