Re: ID for this plantain
Hi John!
How are you doing buddy!....I haven’t talk to you for a while!....It looks like Musa Congo 300 Plantain to me!....The “bid daddy” of Musa Plantain Varieties!....Originally from Africa!....Congo 300 has been used to create other Plantain Varieties, like the Puerto Rican own/native Maricongo Plantain!... Maricongo is composed by two words..... Mari = surrounded by sea, created in the island of Puerto Rico.... Congo = in memory of the original “big daddy” Plantain!..... I want one!...Save me a pup!....Hopefully it helps!.... :2723::bananarow::2723: |

What’s up John!! Hope all is good down in paradise!
Looks to be either a Musa Congo like Hector said or even a tall superplantain! For sure a french type bunch! The French types are my favorites and very productive for me! |

Re: ID for this plantain
Occasionally, a regular plantain will revert to a french type plantain. I had one on the farm for years, I think I must have lost it in Matthew or Irma, because I haven't seen it in a while.
