She says this happens about every year. Also says the plant gets about 8-10 ft tall. This is the only pic I have right now. Any ideas? The "bananas" look like what I get off of my bordelons but the flower is different. I absolutely know it's not a bordelon.

I thought the same based on the height and the way the leaves are growing but I have never seen a basjoo flower. I just pay close attention and listen to people with knowledge!!

forsure basjoo.. only yellow inflorescence of that size in the usa i'm aware of

I agree with the above posters - it looks like the photos I've seen of a basjoo bloom. I don't know anything else that looks like that.
