So far it's looking rather 'Raja Puri' to me. The fruit bunch had be thinking 'Pisang Raja', but the bud is wrong. Post another photo as the fruit reaches maturity, and leave that male bud on.

Thanks for taking a look Gabe.

Unfortunately I only have about two months of good weather left to develop the bananas so in order to minimize any nutrient loss hacked off the flower yesterday. If I had more good weather I would have left it on but its a nice bunch so want to bring it home. Also the flower was massive and weighing down the plant. It seemed to me that the flower grew bigger after deploying all the female fruit bearing flowers when they usually get much smaller. Maybe it was just puffing up.

Last pics of flower from August 23, 2020:

Thanks everybody for your input and thoughts on this plant! I will make a final report when I harvest the fruit. Thanks again to BBJ, MMF, Yug, Smeash, and Gabe.

I think I have a pretty good shot. The plant is very strong with 18 leaves in good condition and is in the West patch that gets maximum sun in my yard from about 8 am to 7 pm. We have two more months of good weather ahead of us so it will have almost 3 months of good season to develop plus whatever we pick up in November to mid December. Hopefully a late frost this year!!

Update November 21, 2020

Fingers have filled out quite a bit and are beginning to turn yellow. ID check/confirmation at this point would be great. Also should I harvest or let go a bit longer? Thanks!
