Help with Nanner ID
Ok I'm a newbie here.....never thought I get this addicted to growing nanners!!! This is a great site and I've had some fun experimenting and reading everyone's threads and post here.
Anyway.....can anyone help me first of all ID this species. Spent a little time browsing the board here and can't see to find the information I'm looking for or at least I can't be sure I'm ID ing it correctly. Also I live in zone 6, Southern Ohio and it's time to start thinking of putting these away for the winter. I have two about the same size in pots and could use some recommendations. I have a very large warehouse that I can store these in for the winter with either indirect sunlight or darkness (Old Mfg warehouse with high bay frosted windows with lower areas that are fairly dark) and the temp. in the winter stays around 50 degrees. Thinking about just leaving them in their pots and forking them up on a pallet rack for the winter..???? I would like to plant these in the ground next year with my Basjoo Thanks in advance |

Thats a ensete maurelli,Red abyssian I think I spelled it close.They get very big but they dont make bananas. I dont think you will have a problem leaving in the pot at the warehouse,just dont water it too much.

For some reason it won't let me make the picture any larger, so it's a little hard to see. But this definitely looks like an Ensete Ventricosum 'Maurelii' (Red Abyssinian Banana).
