Hi guys I uploaded a picture to my gallery actually three times i think, but Icant figure
Out how to post it. If you could look there that would be great. I just bought this banana
And 8 smaller ones form someone on craigslist for $20 but dont no what I have.

Based on the shape of the pseudostem (fat at the base) and the upright, silvery leaves, it kinda looks like musella lasiocarpa. Not for sure though.

The one in the bucket looks like an ensete of sorts.. :^)

Too much stem to be laciocarpa and leaves too bright.

The guy I got them from said that a lot of the small ones where from pups from the bigger ones. I didn't think ensete gave off pups.

The one with the pup is a Dwarf Cavendish or Dwarf version of Cavendish cult. of sorts. :^)

That first one is Musella lasiocarpa, not an Ensete.

Other ones are definitely some sort of Cavendish. Based on the color of the p-stem, I'll guess Gran Nain.

Thanks guys for all the help. I just upload a pic of I guess pup coming out of it,but it is really wound up in it. Is that normal? Of course I don't know how to get the pic on here.

The pup just confirms that it's a Musella. Ensetes generally don't pup.

I never bothered with mussellas

Every dwarf cavendish I've ever seen never had that much red. its mostly green with dark markings on the pstem. The plants in the black pots are more likely super dwarf cavendish or gran nain the two look almost identical only the sdc never gets near the size of gran nain. This is based on what I've seen.

What would you guys do with these for the winter? Should just carry them to my basement the way they are and leave them down there or should I remove them from the pots and wrap them? The big one in the bucket from the original photo I would like to repot and put in my living room for the winter. So if I dont wrap the others should I water them? The other two dwarfs that I have I put in a plastic bag and threw some covers over them in my unheated shore house. Do you think they will be ok? My shore house is in Wildwood crest NJ I think that is zone 7.

I would definitely go sdc over grand naine. As for winter storage, if your basement is cold with no light then no water. If it is warm and they are going to continue to grow then water them only as they dry right out
