The fruit never filled. Even after 6 months.

I would guess it was a seeded variety that didn't get pollinated. Given what they sell and what it looks like, I'd guess Bordelon.

I'd say that's a bit too stout to be Bordelon. The fruit are also too big and are the wrong color. Here are some pics of Bordelon from the Wiki:

I agree with Tony. Looks a lot more like Sumatrana x Gran Nain.

Could be right, but Sumutrana x Grand Naine usually fill fruit, I thought. And according to their current list, AgriStarts doesn't sell them.

They don't have much inventory right now.. I know they had them available last summer. I'd say 6 months of fall & winter aren't the same as warm months. :^)

This plant came in a flat of TC gran nain that I received in December 2009. I kept it in a pot for a while and finally planted it in the ground November 2011. But the fruit never filled. Part of the reason it took so long to fruit is the fact that I was taking the leaves off of it to display my bananas. I'm getting rid of the plant. I don't have time for some ornamental thing.

This was the plant back when it was in a pot. October 24th 2010. It's a wonder I put up with it as long as I did.

I think they were actually selling zebrina at the time. It's a short plant too fruiting at 4.5-5 feet. I'm sure it would be a nice indoor plant.

OK, I'm back on board with Sumatrana x Grand Naine. Keith's link to Gabe's post and Andreas' post of Bordelon photos convinced me -- and the fact that this plant doesn't appear to have an AA genome, it is short, and it's definitely not Zebrina based on the bunch shape.

Well, it's easy to see how sumatrana x gran naine may have ended up in a flat of gran naine. It was probably poorly labeled.
