the one on the left looks like my wife's beard before she cut it off.
i remember one time she was walking past my dwarf brazilians and i thought they had flowered again. anyways...

the way the dead petals cover the flower more closely resemble my ensete glaucums rachis, except the flower on the ensete is green.

Both of these Dwarf Namwa are the First Ratoon Crops of the same mother plant. This is a good example of the range of rachis appearances within a specific cultivar.

So do the clone plants from each of the mothers of the two rachis representations all continue to make the same rachis down the line or is every clone, no matter what it's mother did, a toss up as to which rachis it will make?

Because the mother of these two rachis representatives is the same mother plant it should mean that future generations won't make the same rachis down the line regardless of what it's mother did.

This is actually an example of different microclimates, even though these two sister plants grew just inches away from each other their microclimates were distinctively different.

I made a thread several years ago that explains the microclimate on the farm where the Dwarf Namwa in this thread were grown. I think some members were confused because they didn't understand how to pronounce the words in the title of the thread.

One of two or more words that have the same spelling but differ in origin, meaning, and sometimes pronunciation, such as wind (wĭnd) and wind (wīnd).

I grow on the top of a mountain ridge overlooking the ocean and the wind flows in one direction, and because of this the 'plant crops' pseudostems curve downwind while 'ratoon crops' lean away from the mother plant. If the rachis faces into the wind they tend to be clean and if they're protected from the wind they tend to retain their bracts.

That's quite a bit of lean for a banana. Interesting that the wind does that to a flower when the two are that close.
