Dwarf Brazilian?

This is a banana plant from my friend in Madeira Island. He suspects this is a Dwarf Brazilian... it's true or it's a manzano? Thank's!

It looks like pics I have seen of other people's Dwarf Brazilian, but mine looks a bit different...Mine's rachis is not nearly so messy. It starts out kinda messy but after 6-7 bracts it's clean. Flower is right, though. Brazilians are known for taking a long time to fill in and ripen, though and those look pretty filled out for no longer than it has been... Hard to say. (Me thinking out loud.)

Mine was a tissue culture and never had marks on the leaves. The pups have nice red edges on their leaves, though.

That's strange, mine came from Markus of Germany and is from tissue culture too...

My dwarf Brazillian had some wine spots while small. It came from a member on here. What I've read they can have wine spots on pups and small plants. As for the plant in the picture I'm not sure what it is. Looks really short and stocky. I wouldn't think Manzano. With the wide leaves and huge flower raja Puri maybe. Just a guess. I don't know what it is.

Re: Dwarf Brazilian?

Here's what mine looked like last time I took a pic before cutting off the flower...

Gabe told me it's a Brazilian... It flowered at 9 feet, and the original TC flowered at 8. They are small fruits, about 4 inches or so and not very fat. I let them begin to ripen on the plant and they did not split, either. It took 9 months to flower from a TC plant and 5 months to ripen, from November 24 to March 27th. They are sweet with a slight acid flavor with fruity undertones, hard to describe. Like I said, the rachis is messy at first but cleans up after about half a dozen bracts or so and it has a relatively thin PS...
Our two are not likely the same banana.

That's all I got, hope it helps.

Dwarf Brazilian or Rajapuri, I'd say. Definitely not Manzano.
