In doubt wheter to buy this plant (Another Musa Tropicana topic)

I've done some asking on the site selling it (Musa Banana | Groene Kamerplanten | Kamerplant.com), but they don't seem to know much. Initially told me it should be put in the shade with wet soil, and from what I've read here that's a great way to kill a banana. They also sent me a link to this site, which tells me it isn't suitable for consumption: Musa tropicana | Care | Take away trends

The temperature advised (on the site) translated to F is 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

I asked a bunch of questions hoping to understand what kind of care is required and what kind of banana it is aswell as trying to figure out if they knew anything at all. I'd rather get the plant from a reputable source rather then some trendy bull****ters that refuse to share the actual cultivar but other then Basjoo and Velutina seeds it's virtually impossible to find banana's here.

Max height is around 6'7".
Produces pups weekly in growing season. ??? Maybe they meant leaves?! Yet earlier in the mail they advise to remove excessive amount of pups and that after fruiting the tree dies and a new pup will grow in it's place, so it appears they do mean pups.
Tissue cultured.

Where abouts are you? That website looks European. There are hundreds of places to get banana plants in Europe.

I wouldn't be surprised to find poor advice from that website, it's not really for plants.

I'm in the Netherlands. So yes, Europe.

So where would I get banana plants, then? Been looking everywhere for a SDC.

Hi KTM ---------- the easiest way to get all the banana plants you want would be to contact Herr Markus Jonda at Palmcenter-exotica. His nursery is in Neufahrn in Germany. Look under bananenstauden. I have 2 Chini Champa that came from him.

Thank you so much for that site. Unfortunately no SDC in the list, but if there's anyone that can get one it has to be him. I'll go do some research, maybe one of the plants he normally sells is suitable for indoor growing.

I just hope the shipping costs aren't too high.

The lil prince is a more compact banana than an SDC, they are not one in the same at all.. One is etible & the other is not, just so you know, yah know. :^)

So SDC is the edible one...right?!

That dutch site doesn't have SDC, and they charge ridiculous shipping rates. The plants are all super tiny and I'm not that awesome at growing banana's yet (even my velutina is developing black tips >_<) so the tiny stuff is not optimal. Would be a good site if you need to order 30+ small plants for...like...a banana plantation...lol.

I'll ask around and see if there's any mystical nanner I don't know about that does well indoors and is small. Even SDC isn't really perfect with it's high temperature requirements.
