Default This does not look [to me] like a banana flower

I have had a few flowers from Brazilians (beautiful). Did I end up with a mutant by my pool? Please help me identify this green-wrapped strangeling.

That's a flower...
As for what variety...
I'll leave it to the experts...

I know that Cavendish types often have green buds before they open fully. Given that and the growth habit, it's probably DC or another Cavendish type.

I don't think I've ever had a Cavendish on my property. I have had Basjoos, so that's a possibility. I'll keep you guys posted with pix, and you experts can settle the question as it develops (still have a couple months before freeze).

Cheers,

Ed.

Basjoo shouldn't have any wax on the petioles, and it should be taller with longer petioles.

Definitely not a basjoo...
They have yellowish-green flowers...

Thanks for the input guys, maybe we'll have a mild winter and I'll actually get to harvest!

Cheers,
