![]() The story goes like this, the mother plant is said to have come from a commercial grower out of Florida and originated from India. It is growing at a clients home and they have had it for many years. The matt is overgrown and is not taken care of and is surrounded in thorns and a sticker bushes that have taken over. Early in the spring i managed to cut my way to the matt and grab a pup. it is flourishing and is about 4 ft.
The info i have from the people i got it from was it was a gift many years ago from a close friend which has now passed, they are also elderly. He told them the variety had originated in India. He was a commercial grower who lived in Florida.. Their matt uncared for was about 15 ft tall. The pstems have a soft pink streaked on them and as you can see from the pics the cigar leaves have a bronze/ pink hue to them. Any thoughts on an ID? url=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=63803&ppuser=23591] thanks, Darla

![]() The yellow green stems, copper cigar, and petioles look like a mini version of my tall plantain. If you want to deal and can get suckers I would like to get one.
