Banana dwarf identification
 

Hello!

I'm new to this site and i'm hoping to finally find out the right latin name for my banana plants.

The left picture is of a bananaplant I bought and was named "Musa Oriental Dwarf" and the right one was named "Musa Tropicana".

On the internet I noticed that Tropicana is a synonym for Musa Super Dwarf Cavendish, but I can't find a synonym for the Oriental Dwarf.

So 2 questions:
1)Is my tropicana (right) a Super Dwarf Cavendish?
2)Wat is the real latin name for my left banana?

Probably both regular Dwarf Cawendish

Is there a clear way to identify the difference between Dwarf and Super Dwarf? Or only possible when they are full size?

The leaves are pretty short (esp the petioles), and there is very little height difference between where they emerge from the p-stem. No way would I think that was a dwarf cav.

Your plants don't look starved for nutrients, so unless it is a SDC, there would be no other explanation for such compact growth.

Thank you! Just what I needed tot hear:). Yes, I give them regular fertilizers. I will look at my other dwarfs, to hopefully also find a regular dwarf.

Agreed, looks like a SDC. Regular Dwarf Cavendish plants have their leaves more spread out and are taller.
