They are still a bit maroon on the leaf underside, but none of the variegation on the leaves. When the pups first imerge from the ground they have a nice maroon pseudostem (covered in white powder) but it turns green not long after. The large old plants in Balboa Park just look basically green but you can see some color on the pup in that photo you took.

I don't think the 'Bordelon' or the Balbisiana were there back when I first discovered the big Musa at the foot of the stairs.
