Default Zebrina and ornata impulse buy

I got ten seeds, along with some other houseplant seeds. If any of them germinate, I'll be growing some banana plants. If not, dunno if I'll try again.

I like LEDs. It's just cool to have a light source with really high efficiency.

Thank you. Btw, I don't have any particular confidence that the seeds actually are the stated species. The zebrina is labeled as Musa zebrina, not Musa accuminata ssp zebrina, and many other names are misspelled or obsolete on the site, raingardens.com. As for ornata, I see on this forum that lots of stuff gets called ornata that isn't.

Thanks, Abnshrek. Hopefully I'll have at least one germinate and thrive, so that with pups I'll eventually have more than I have room for. But just as likely in a few months I'll take you up on that.

Also, I have a newbie question. There are some forums where people try to keep everything related in the same thread, and it gets messed up when people start new threads. There are other forums where people read the new threads when they're looking for something new, and go back to a thread from however-long-ago when they're looking for something that was said about then. And that gets messed up when people re-activate long-dormant threads.

This forum isn't an extreme case of either type, or I would have run into cases of people complaining about it. But most forums are at least somewhat one way or the other. Which is this?

Most older threads still have relevancy since people tomorrow may have the same problem. People like to learn from others problems with certain types pests, types of bananas, or how long they tend to take to mature or bananas to mature once a flower is acheived in relative terms. Any input on a subject is pretty much welcome I'd say, so its all good. :^)

It's way too soon for the bananas to have germinated, of course, but I have one cactus sprout. So I put half a dozen CFLs above the box of ziploc bags of cups, hanging on a string between some cheap sticks stapled to half a cardboard box, with aluminum foil all over the place. It's ugly as sin, but it gets some light on them.

One of the ornata seeds still floated after soaking for about 30 hours. Its cup has some mold, and so do two of the cups with Areca seeds. I let them dry out a bit, had bright lights on them for a while, and put all the fuzzy ones into one bag.
