Yo People, Hello from Malaysia!
It took me quite a while of bumming around this great banana site before I decided to say hello. I am a newbie to bananas and it was the Ensete superbum that got me hooked. So like you people I have gone crazy and started to collect banana species. Basically my main interests are in rare palms and aroids. I have a 3 acre nursery where most of my stuff are kept. My partner plants all sorts of fruits that he wants to eat and this includes quite a few bananas, especially the Pisang Raja Udang. I have just germinated 7 out of 10 seeds of the Ensete livinstonianum which I got from rarepalmseeds.com. I still can't find a photo of it and I guess I have to grow them to see how they look like. Well, this is all for now. Keep up the craze!

Nice having you with us, please keep us posted on the progress of your bananas. Will you be selling them for shipment to the USA? We are always on the watch for rare banana plants and you are located in an area where there might be some real rare bananas available.
Welcome! |

WOW! You people are really cordial! Thanks for the welcome, it made feel like a celebrity! I just posted a pix of my grove of edible 'nanas. Hope you like it! In addition to 20+ plants of the cavendish cultivar, Pisang Mas (in Malay) or Golden banana which is extremely tasty, I have more than 40 plants of the Red banana, Pisang Raja Udang. All planted by my partner. No, we don't sell them, whenever we have fruits, we give them away to friends! Well, thanks again. Will definitely try to post more pix of the 'nanas from here. Regards
