yellow pitaya
Thank you kindly for having me join your group.
I am looking for the yellow pitaya plants to buy, either full plants or cuttings to ship to FL in the US. I am a hobby grower of rare fruiting plants and enjoy most. Find the pitaya an interesting plant and must know all I can. Can someone direct me? 813-610-0207 EST |

I have the yellow pitaya, the fruits have spines on them right now and should ripen in a month or so. Excalibur Rare fruit trees sells them here in West Palm Beach. They are beautiful flowers if you get out at night. This is a picture of one. The best way to grow them is on a post covered in burlap. The Yellow pitaya doesn't seem to have a root that grabs the tree like other varieties so the burlap helps.
You can see my hand the blossom is 6 inches across, the fruit is sweeter than the red. You can start then from a cutting. Scott

I had just about every blossom set fruit on the Yellow.
The Red was another story evidently I need to find another species of red that blooms within 48 hours to cross pollinate with the one I had. Sounded like to much work to me so I started all over with the red. The yellow have a great self defense mechanism, some long spines, be careful!
