Default Thanks for letting me be a memeber. I need some help.

This looks like a very interesting site and I am glad to be a new member. I found this site while looking for an answer to a question and I hope I find it here.

Back in the early 1970's my sister honeymooned in Africa for 3 months. She brought back many pictures that she says are made from banana bark. In my research online I suspect that they are more fiber and banana bark paper, but she insists they are all bark. Probably a mute point.

The pictures have begun to "peel" and curl and seem to be drying out, in her words. We are searching for a way to repair them and preserve them from future aging. Is there anyone out there who knows what we can do? Any help would be wonderful. I thank you for your time.

Pictures would probably help. Natural fibers do have a tendency to dry out and begin separating.

Also, where in the country you are, for instance here in Florida not much seems to dry out because of the high humidity. Are you in an arid area?

We are in California. We get very little humidity compared to Florida. My sister does live near the beach so she does get some humidity.

I'm just a palm guy, but bananas don't have bark, do they?

My sister says it is banana bark. It may be the banana "bark" fiber from the inside. She calls them banana bark pictures.

Welcome we look forward to sharing.
What size are the pictures? are they different colors of green or brown? are the fibers died? Any info can help.
