Tampa Bay Area, Zone 9b

Hello All:

I have been lurking around this site for a long time. Gathering information and trying to grow bananas, there have been multiple fatalities. Things are going to change for the better now!

My wife and I recently purchased a small house with a big yard. We are in town, have sandy soil, and irrigation. So far we have purchased the following; 2 dwarf namwa, 2 ice cream, and 1 sweetheart. Time will tell what we actually have.

All of the plants are growing well and appear to be healthy. We are just drooling waiting for the fruit to emerge. The Namwa and Ice Cream are producing lots of pup plants, enough that I have shared them with some friends at work. The Sweet Heart is growing well, but has not produced any pups. We planted 1 foot tall plants in May and the plants range from 5 to 12 feet now (dwarfs are obviously the small ones), I am hoping for some fruit action this summer.

Have a great day,

Joe
