Default Red Abbyssinian banana

I have a red Abbyssinian banana (species not known). It is a pot-grown plant and is about 6ft tall.

Pale browny coloured, almost translucent patches have started aappearing on the leaves. Can anyone tell me what might be the cause of this please. I am no plant expert and am at a loss as to the problem.
