Default Pineapple

I grow pineapples and have some varieties which I do not know if they are edible.

I have a problem with racoons and just recently a larva has attacked one of my pineapples.

Are you certain it is a larva, or could it be a snail? I would suggest pepper spray to deter the coons.
Good luck!

Yes it was most likely a beetle larva (worm) boring up the center of the pineapple. I have been growing pineapples now for close to twenty years and this is the first insect I have had infrest my pineapple.

I'm not sure about the larva but a good safe and organic way to keep snails off your plants is to sprinkle diatamasious earth around your plants its the same stuff you use in pool filters it vary sharp and the snails don't like it on their feet
