Default Ordering a Banana Tree, New to it ALL

I am going to be ordering a MUSA ACUMINATA SUPER DWARF CAVENDISH BANANA tree and I know nothing about growing them. I am ordering it from Amazon.com from Hirts Gardens, it'll be a plant already, so what do I do when I get it and how long does it take before bananas appear. I'm excited about ordering it but nervous. I'm also ordering Panama Orange tree seeds. Thanks.

Congratulations,and welcome to the addiction!
It'll most likely be a very small plant, less than 6 inches tall. Keep it in a very bright and warm location, minimum temperature of 60 degrees. It most likely won't need repotting when you get it, but look to see if the roots are coming out of the bottom of the pot.
This time of the year they don't usually grow much, so if you fertilize it, give it 1/2 strength of what it says on the package. Keep it in a humid place, or mist it with water regularly. Don't overwater it, but don't let it completely dry out.
Most bananas around here (Indiana) take about four years to bloom that I've grown out so far.

Thanks Everyone. I have a question, how often to water or mist it? And right now we are experiencing frequent snow which is unusual for Eastern Tennessee and I don't really have a good window for the plant. Should I use a light and how do I keep it 'tropical'?

In the Land of Bristol & ETSU you should water maybe once a week. How often you mist depends on how warm your home is. A temp light you can get from wally world. a higher powered light bulb from lowe's or home improvement store.

anything above 60F is good, like Sandy said.. I had an Lt. (butterbar) that went there.. and we just happened to get stuck there in that beautiful region doing funeral detail on many an occasion. :^)
