![]() Hi..I am glad I found this message board. I love banana trees. I live in south Mississippi. Could anyone tell me the best way to get some Darjeeling musa sikkimensis and Abyssinian musa ensete seeds started? I just got them in the mail today. The directions are to soak them in warm water for 24 hours and plant in good well draining potting mix inside. Give warmth and bright light. What would be the best potting mix and would a vapor mercury light that was used for my tortoise work for the seeds or not? It's very bright and is warm. That is the only type of light I have unless a regular 100 watt light bulb would work. I am a newbie at this..can't you tell? LOL Thank you all.

![]() A very welcome aboard Deb, you will find the information you are looking
for in the following thread. Heat mats Sikkimensis seeds like fluctuating temps and ensete will sprout at steady warm temps. ![]() Ron |
