We purchased a home in Arbutus Ridge on southern Vancouver Island. In our front yard is a banana plant which was left uncovered over the winter and consequently didn't look so good. We cut back all the soggy rotting vegetation and then hoped for the best. About two weeks ago the pups started to emerge reaching about nine inches tall. They appear to add an inch every day. I found this site looking for information on caring for these plants. According to the neighbours the plant is spectacular reaching heights of nearly ten feet by fall. Something to look forward to.
I'm hoping to find lots of useful information on this site. |
