Default Newbie (kinda)

Hey everybody!

So I have been using this site for a long time but only looking at information. I just asked my first question two days ago and received some great help! Thanks to all and i hope i can help someone else out too. I just started growing bananas 2 years ago and have 5 now...and had to build a greenhouse to keep all of them in. Now i grow bananas of course, pineapples, coffee, limequats, orchids, aloe, spearmint, corn, tomatoes, melons, onions, basil, cilantro, dill, and some other plants that i rescued from the death shelf at home depot. I built a 10x12 greenhouse with solex and poured concrete, laid block, framed, covered, heated and ran water and electricity, so if you need greenhouse help don’t hesitate to ask. I live in Maryland (about a half hour from Baltimore). I am a emergency room technician at a local hospital. I see there is also a Maryland nurse here! Thanks for all your help!

Welcome Dcolfel, my son lives in MD--about 1/2 hr west of Baltimore. You don't happen to work at Johns Hopkins do you? I have been to Johns Hopkins a couple times--great hospital there.

Ever heard of Marriottsville? I think that is Howard county.

As for hospitals, I found out about Johns Hopkins when I was searching the internet regarding my medical problems--in both cases they were using some very advanced techniques. It was very easy to set up the surgeries--and they did a great job.

Yeah, NC was too cold for me--actually it wasn't the cold so much as the length of the winter--from Oct to May. I'm use to winter being from Dec to Feb---6 or 7 months is just tooooo long. I do love the fall color up there!

Next time we visit we will have to try Baugers.
